If you have mobility issues or you prefer to cook instead of eating out this is definitely not the place for you. I couldn't really tell from the pictures but there are 3 steep narrow staircases. 2 to the bedroom and 1 to the bathroom. I absolutely could not get to the bedroom. My son could but he literally had to crawl up the first one. Low clearance. In order to fill the coffee pot with water he had to sit on the floor of the landing behind the microwave and I handed him the pot of water. He was really looking forward to being on the water but the canoe was on the dock full of water and the kayak was buried in leaves and debris and he was worried about snakes. Also there was no life jackets. When we left 2 days later someone had remedied the situation but we were going home. He said he might would go back for a weekend but not with me because I was totally uncomfortable. So when the host says to look closely at the pictures please do. I blame myself not the host.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Hummingbird House! Me and my pup had a peaceful getaway on lake lure just minutes away from chimney rock and lake lure village. I will definitely be staying again at this location! The driveway comes up quick so just make sure to pull around slow and the drop is steep but I was able to navigate it well after the first try. Corey was very responsive throughout my stay and made sure everything was up to standard.

Oh, loved The Hummingbird Cottage by Lake Lure! Spent some time resting, working remotely - enjoying the lovely Spring transitions and growth the town’s experienced since hurricane Helene. Such an inspiring story, and lovely home! For our tall peeps, be mindful of the double-set of easy to climb stairs leading up to the main bedroom and loft patio. (: 10/10 would recommend. 👏 Corey, and the owners, are lovely people, also! Thanks, guys! - MC
